Welcome to my site The launch of my website comes at a very interesting time in my life. I have recently left my native Jordan for Seattle with my lovely wife Amanda and our little boy, Ismael. In a way, therefore, this website is turning out to be a kind of summation of the seven years that we spent living in Jordan, a place which both my wife and myself have grown to love, but a place towards which we also have some ambivalent feelings. So why the move? I would like to think (as Arabs would) that it is our fate to move to Seattle at this point. Our move is prompted by many things that came together simultaneously, including a desire for something different, boredom with the place we were at in our lives, a desire to be independent (this is a long story, you can read about it here), and an optimistic sense that we will find something in Seattle that we've been looking for, both for myself and Amanda. We chose Seattle in part because we have good friends here, because it's liberal and open minded, and because it's pretty. We also read somewhere that it was voted the #1 most kid-friendly city in the US , and we want Ismael to have some fun. Update, Jun 2005: I have just accepted a job as a Marketing Analyst with a company called WorldClass Strategy, which I am very excited about. It is a web marketing company and they are very good at what they do. I know they're a really good company because they offered me a job despite the fact that all my previous experience was in a different industry. As far as I'm concerned, it shows that they have their eyes set on what really matters: getting good people, expanding their talent base, rather than looking for someone who has a prior knowledge of what can be easily taught anyway. Why a Marketing Analyst? Largely because in my last job as Director of Marketing for KDS playing with and analyzing data was one of the things I enjoyed most about that job, and something that I did really well.
