I always sent my views to the BBC “have your say section”, although they very seldom published them. It was a surprise when one day they sent me an email asking if I would write about the war in Iraq from a Jordanian perspective, and this is the result. This (heavily edited) version was published on the BBC website.

• An Arab writes about the US election
November 2nd, 2004 - Beirut Times
I was lucky to be able to get this article endorsing John kerry published on the eve of the US election. The election results were a shock and all but incapacitated me for about a week.

When it was first posted it was a thrill to have the link to my article displayed right next to another one by JOHN ZOGBY, also endorsing Kerry.
